Okano Takahei｜Katakuchi Bowl

Kohei Okano is a Japanese ceramic artist
originally from Kumamoto, Japan.

After studying contemporary art in Germany,
he began studying pottery at the Saga Ceramics
Research Laboratory in Arita in 2019.
He established his independent practice in 2023.

Working primarily with porcelain clay sourced
from Amakusa, Kumamoto, his work explores
the subtle beauty of white porcelain.

A softly rounded porcelain vessel with a subtle blush-pink undertone, revealed gently through its pale surface. Its quiet form and delicate pouring spout make it a versatile piece for tea rituals, whether used for preparing matcha or serving tea.

Understated and tactile, it brings a gentle warmth to the tea table.
